Dr. Thorncroft snapped on her goggles, carefully minding her ears and the curls of her hair; for all the intricacies of her inventions, it was elastic bands she’d lost the most feathers to.

“More work for us!”

After some fiddling of controls along the rim, the magical effect of the lenses bloomed into view, blurring her vision with a subtle anaglyphic effect. She watched as both herself and her golem radiated with the green haze of her own aether, a persistent aura normally invisible to the naked eye.

“Oh excellent, they still work--feel like taking these out for a spin on some corrupted aether, Bradley?”

Absolutely!’ he did not reply.
